Tips for 30th September

Featured Tips:

Crewe Alexandra vs Notts County

Mid-table Notts County travel to the Alexandra Stadium in Tuesday’s only League One match.

Crewe are glued to the bottom of League One, with just 4 points and 1 win to their name. Recent heavy defeats to Colchester and MK Dons have heaped the pressure on manager Steve Davis who will be desperate for all 3 points tonight. They’ve conceded at least one goal in each of their last 9 league games and 11 in their 4 home games in the league.

Notts County are 4 without defeat, but are also 4 without a win.  A win tonight will turn these results into a solid run of form, and give them the platform to push on into the playoff positions. They boast a fantastic defensive record, conceding just 7 goals in their opening 9 games. and will be confident of a win against a struggling side; having picked up impressive draws away from home against Peterborough and Chesterfield, teams that offer much more of a threat than Crewe.

Expecting Notts County to have too much for Crewe tonight and turn their recent run of draws into a victory tonight. They are 8/5 for the win, but we’re playing it safe and going for draw no bet.

Prediction – Crewe 1-2 Notts County

The Pick – Notts County draw no bet – 5/6 – 1.83

Manchester City vs AS Roma

City come into this game with a poor record in their previous Champions League games; losing their last 3 games in the competition. Their home form this season has been also been surprisingly poor, winning just one league game of 3, including a shock 1-0 defeat to Stoke. City seem to struggle to win at home to the European Elite, failing to beat Chelsea, Barca and Bayern in recent encounters (and Stoke of course).

Roma, on the contrary come into this game in great form and with little pressure. They’ve won their first 5 games in Serie A, conceding only 1 goal and recorded their biggest ever CL victory last time out with a 5-1 win over CSKA Moscow. However, it would be naive to say that the Roma defence will have faced as big a threat as City at the Etihad. Nonetheless, the odds are too heavily in favour of a City side that have faltered of late to not back Roma with a +handicap.  Roma +1.25 covers a Roma loss by 1 goal, and offers a decent price. If you’re brave you can get a Roma win/draw at 29/20 and taking everything into account, this doesn’t seem too unlikely.

Prediction – Man City 1-1 AS Roma

The Pick – AS Roma +1.25 asian handicap – 7/10 – 1.70
